white observes, “it isn’t that the wind is blowing. it’s what the wind is blowing. if you get hit with a volvo, it doesn’t matter how many situps you did that morning.”
@singlemaltgirl He is the only conservative comedian I know of who genuinely seems to know what comedy is. Even when I hate his work (which is often), I can see that he told a joke. That's surprisingly rare on the right!
@FranklyCurious i thought foxworthy & engvall can be funny, too. mind you, i haven't seen then in years & i find since trump, many comedians who could be funny went over the deep end.
@singlemaltgirl Yeah, I'm being mean. Foxworthy was pretty good early on. But more recent stuff I've seen has been pretty weak. Engvall is a lot like White. But not as good. But they do all understand what a joke is... Of course, they are all from a different time. But maybe I'm just seeing the very best of the new conservative comedians!

i tend to focus on some of the female comedians who are actually funny & don't have to tear down others to do it. maria bamford, erica sigurdson, fatima dhowre...
