Lisa O'Neill is the artist I listen mostly to these days. This is for all the UAW strikers: "River rock the machine until it stops"

@th3j35t3r I hope I didn't do that! I'm not very very good with all the VR stuff. If I did, it was unintentional!

I just watched the first two episodes of The Jetsons. I tend to remember "real" men of that era as being, at least, stoic. But based on the presentation of George, I think they were actually just as much whiners are they are today.

The Onion clearly does not have the money it used to but I think it is better than ever. In the article "Bill Maher Returns To Show Over Fears Aging Fan Base Will Die Off Before Writers’ Strike Ends" it quotes Maher, "I wish I could help out the writers, but my captive audience of people who are literally too old and infirm to change the channel when Real Time With Bill Maher comes on is not long for this world." Brilliant!

@Armchaircouch Oh, yeah! I can see it in my mind. Although I was a bit surprised about the vaping!

The world has just gotten too weird for me.

"US Rep Lauren Boebert was escorted out of a Sunday night performance of the 'Beetlejuice' musical in downtown Denver, accused by venue officials of vaping, singing, recording and 'causing a disturbance' during the performance."

Fox News, of course, says she was removed just for "laughing and singing loudly."

Carnival of Souls is one of my very favorite films. I just learned from the following reunion video that it was paired with The Devil´s Messenger for drive-in distribution. It makes sense. They have a similar mood. But it is nowhere near as good.

I just watched What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962). Amazing film. I don't think I could take it again. I want to watch some 1970s Italian horror just to recover from it. That stuff is intense in an entirely different way. Much easier to take! By the end of this film, I didn't even want Bette Davis to get justice. She was so tragic!

@thedisasterautist Could not have said it as well myself. I also highly recommend Blatty's other directorial outing, The Ninth Configuration

I got 20 minutes into The Pope's Exorcist. It's not bad. Beautifully lit and shot. And Russell Crowe is compelling. I'll probably finish it later. For now, I'm going to put on The Exorcist III, which is one of my very favorite films. It's sad that Blatty only made two films. No one made better and more entertaining films!

This seems important. PC Mag, which normally fluffs Elon Musk, just sent me a newsletter with the headline, "Musk Is Whining About Twitter Again."

I've been a huge Stewart Lee fan for years and I've seen every one of his stand-up specials. But he can still make me laugh...

I just remembered this great Tom Tomorrow cartoon from the 1990s about the phrase, "An armed society is a polite society."

@BrentSullivan It's only a section anyway. Reminds me of the non-smoking sections that didn't work terribly well!

@LnzyHou Had the exactly same experience -- except it was to Seoul!

@Agatha That did occur to me at the time. One hundred years ago and the same damned thing!

"For travelers who want to avoid babies and kids, one airline will test an adults-only section"

Now if they just get rid of the adults!

@Myana The Rural Cemetery is particularly great because it has its own historical society that published a book with details of ~5,000 graves. Amazing stuff!
