@Oma_Trisha I started out on a dial-up bbs called GEnie which was GE making use of its extra bandwidth and servers to provide online access, first to its employees then the general public. From there I also joined Prodigy, Compuserve, and AOL. For a while my internet bills exceeded my mortgage. Thank gawd for broadband!! Whenever I hear the modem handshake sound effect now days it brings back some serious memories 😄

@GlytchMeister Even inquiries into your credit score that happen when you apply for a loan can ding your credit score. Whether the actual loan does will depend on all of the factors that create your credit score in the first place, debt to income ratio, number of open and closed accounts, payment history, etc.
