Hello, I’m a 40-year-old fiction writer who loves horror movies and punk rock. This is my first post and I don’t know what I am doing.

Why is everyone trying to normalize when we can just paranormalize instead?

A portrait of Apocryphiliac by my friend’s 4-year-old

She really captured my vacant expression.

@h2oaddicted just wanted to let you know, in case you don't check the Discord announcements and want to watch along this week, the movies have been moved to Friday night instead of Saturday, at the usual time. We're watching Phantasm 1 & 2 this week, in fulfillment of a request from @tiptoeing 👍 Hope to see you!

Wes Craven month concludes in just under 3 and 1/2 hours from now at Saturday , 8/26/23, with all of his SCREAMs, starting at 8:00 PM US Central and ending when we've watched all four of them, or I've passed out... OR the lightning from the storms outside shuts us down.

As usual, let me know if you'd like to join in.

New Video out now! In it we are going to be stepping back into the world of cinema and discussing what could very well be the B-Movie event of the year, Slotherhouse!

You can watch it here:

My feat of physical prowess this week just transpired: a mosquito followed me inside and I not only managed to watch where she went, (the ceiling) I managed to fetch my electric bug-zapping tennis racket, jump-swing to dislodge her, then *a second jump-swing* to zap. I feel like a, like, tennis pro-person. I’d name one, but I am basically unaware of tennis pros and the name would just as likely be a golf pro.

Wes Craven month continues tonight at Saturday , 8/19/23, with two of his nastiest films. At 8:00 PM US Central we will start with THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS (1991). Then around 10 PM US Central we'll follow with THE HILLS HAVE EYES (1977).

Let me know if you'd like to join us!

So we adopted a new kitten and I meant to post this video of our slightly less new cat fishing for our brand new kitten on , but I forgot. You may still enjoy it if you like and . I think it is kind of funny.

This Saturday (8/12/23), we are continuing Wes Craven month at 8:00 PM US Central by streaming 1981's DEADLY BLESSING, followed at around 10 PM by DEADLY FRIEND (1986).

Let me know if you'd like to join us!

I picked this up to help me celebrate as it was recommended to me some time ago as “the” book to read on Wes. Anyone have other recommendations? Be that as it may, I’m about to dive right in!

Last call to remind potential newcomers of the tonight where we’ll be watching Wes’ two Nightmare films + documentary background + surprise 3rd film!

Happy birthday, Wes Craven!

To celebrate, Saturday is dedicating August to the films of Craven, starting this Saturday, 8/25/23, with his two entries in the Elm Street franchise (and a surprise third bonus feature).

Join us at 8:00 PM US Central for A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), followed at around 10:15 by New Nightmare (1994) and supplemented with the 2013 behind-the-scenes documentary Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy.

Tomorrow for Saturday , 7/25/23, we're streaming some Things--starting with Howard Hawks' 1951 THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD at 8:00 PM US Central. John Carpenter's 1982 THE THING, will follow around 9:40 PM Central, and THE THING (2011) is a likely bonus feature starting around 11:45 PM Central.

As always, let me know if you would like to join for the watch party!

I’m finally asking this most hard hitting of questions: which do you prefer?

For tomorrow's Saturday , 7/22/23, we'll be streaming a double-dose of Becky, the teenager who cuts through Neo-Nazis like a knife through warm butter.

First, at 8:00 PM US Central, is BECKY (2020). Then, around 9:45 we will watch the sequel, THE WRATH OF BECKY (2023).

As always, let me know if you'd like to watch along!

Calling all goofy .

Taco Bell Quarterly is closing to submissions in a few days.

You read their name right. They're on the hunt for Taco Bell themed literature - 500 to 1500 words. $100 per acceptances.

I might write a goofy piece inspired by the fact that Taco Bell came to and failed to thrive in Colombia.

As a writing exercise, mainly. Just something for fun.

If you're so inclined, toss a goofball piece their way, too!
