Reminder: Public comment period closes today regarding whether COVID 19 vaccine boosters should only be available to people over 75 years old. They're obviously going to rule on the science, but one can interpret the same facts differently, e.g., whether only death and hospitalization are reasons to vaccinate, or whether long COVID or unknown future neurologic reactions (as happened with the 1918 flu) should be considered:
Anyone else get annoyed by supposedly left-wing organizations that get you to open their fundraising mail by enclosing non-recyclable “free gift” stickers inside? Like how many snail-mail envelopes do you think I send, ACLU, Nature Conservancy, and EarthJustice? And how many pink bumper stickers do you think people will put on their cars, Planned Parenthood?
Worse, most people won’t even know to remove them, making the low rates of paper recycling even worse when stickers gum up the machines.
I hadn't ever heard of her, that I recall. Amazing!

If you like pumpkin spice, but want to cut down the calories compared to pumpkin pie, sweet potato pone is like a crustless sweet potato pie. (Though I would leave out the orange.)

Since it's been a topic ... Harvard has an on line tool to see how much you associate race with positive or negative concepts. It's apparently pretty reproducible. The only caveat is to really try to answer the questions as fast as you can.

@th3j35t3r I saw a lot, and IMO it is pain that comes with growth.
Suggestion: we love our hashtags here, me too. But replying TO someones post with a request to use hashtags is being understood as insensitive/silencing when people are expressing pain or outrage. A cultural shift now that we’re bigger, to not reply TO someone with a request (or demand) for hashtags might help. Or a tech solution of allowing users to set default hashtags might help, but cultural seems better imo in this case
Glad to see the first ten medications chosen for price controls are those used by large numbers of patients and patients typically on multiple different medications concurrently (particularly diabetics), rather than a few extremely expensive but rarely used drugs.

Looks like it's going to be another sanctimonious week here on Al Gore's Internet.
Reminder that human beings are not members of sports teams, and there's no difference between mocking people after disaster who live in a currently red state and people on the right stating that natural disaster is God's punishment for the LGBTQ+ community.
Be kind, and think before you snark, please.
