Happy National Nurses Week to all my amazing colleagues!
This week, we celebrate the dedication, compassion, and skill that nurses bring to the healthcare field every single day. We are the backbone of hospitals, clinics, and communities, advocating for our patients and ensuring they receive the best possible care.
My favorite part of being a nurse is helping people embrace autonomy.
No matter what your specialty, be proud of the incredible work you do!
2️⃣ Schools must protect students from targeted discriminatory harassment and violence, but may not penalize people for taking sides on the war in Gaza, even if expressed in deeply offensive terms
3️⃣ Schools can announce and enforce reasonable content-neutral protest policies, but they must leave ample room for students to express themselves
4️⃣ Schools must recognize that armed police on campus can endanger students and are a measure of last resort

ACLU:
Today we sent an open letter to college and university presidents across the nation outlining five basic guardrails to ensure freedom of speech and academic freedom while protecting against discriminatory harassment and disruptive conduct:
1️⃣ Schools must not single out particular viewpoints for censorship, discipline, or disproportionate punishment

A few nights ago, I dreamt I was in a doctor's office. He & I were chatting & both completely at ease.
Doc: Well, since this is going to be your last summer, you should do whatever pleases you as long as it doesn't hurt someone else.
Me: I think you're right. I think I'll plant petunias in the railing boxes on the deck.
Doc: That's it? No travel?
Me: No. I've always been happiest at home.
END
Weird, eh? I don't believe for a minute that dreams predict the future, but I'm planting petunias.
So. I’m on the side of people who don’t resort to violence. I’m on the side of people who don’t think targeting civilians with instruments of war is forgivable or acceptable. I’m on the side of people who don’t think the death of civilians in a conflict is made acceptable or forgivable by employing an evil diminishing term like “collateral damage.” I’m with THOSE people regardless of their location, nationality, religion, ethnicity or whatever other bullshit label employed to divide.
We've said for years now that if saner Republicans don't want to be painted with the MAGA brush, they need to speak out against Trump & his crazies.
Now from the Sauce For the Goose Dept, if campus protestors don't all want to be portrayed as antisemitic, they need to speak out against it and root it out from their midst.
The right to protest is vital, but you share responsibility for what you tolerate.

Some of us recently voted in a poll posted by @dauphin87. It got me thinking about abortion stories I've heard/seen/lived.
With an election coming up that very much has women's health on the ballot and on the chopping block, do people here feel it would be appropriate to gather some of those stories? Would you feel it was a great idea or something that just isn't in the spirit of CoSo? Would it give some people a release or make too many others too uncomfortable?
