Took both furballs to the vet yesterday & got a bit of startling news. This little sweet pea is allergic to meat.
SAY WHAT?!?!?
Well, not all meat. Just normal meat that most dogs eat. She can't have it unless it's hydrolyzed and dollaryzed. Pup # 2 has to have it that way, too, because her allergy will flare from the tiniest partical.
All of their food - much of it just recently stocked up in the pantry - has to be replaced with some that costs twice as much.

BeagleBoy spends half his waking hours hiding under a blanket. I can't figure out why. It's not fear - he didn't start doing it here until he was comfortable and settled in. IAE, in this house nobody sits down without poking the lump first to see if it moves
When we brought BeagleBoy home from the shelter, he had no interest in sleeping on any of the approximately 184 dog beds in this house. Until I stacked three of them to be taken to the storage closet..
