We regulated the purchase of fertilizer after Oklahoma City.

We regulated the purchase of nasal spray after it was being used to cook meth.

Buy a gun and 2000 rounds of ammo? No problem!

@Tacitus_Kilgore

I have to head out now, family thing, but I promise to get on it early. Any tips for where to find pertinent info will be appreciated.

@Tacitus_Kilgore

OK I just read an explanation of the whole thing written for kids by the cbc πŸ˜„.

I don't understand why Singh is doing this. He says Trudeau is too far right, but he's going to take action that can very well result in getting even less of what he wants?

I need to have a good handle on it so I don't post something that makes you lot look stupid by association.

I still have a Twitter account. And Reddit.

@Tacitus_Kilgore

What can we do? Do you need help spreading the word? I don't like this guy already.

@Tacitus_Kilgore

It sounds like blather. In order to make housing more affordable, you have to give more money to builders? I didn't hear any mention of a requirement that that money be passed along to home buyers in the form of reasonable prices. And isn't there already a problem with clear cutting?

I'm not well versed in Canadian law, but here prices are set by corporation, not the WhiteHouse no matter what bullshit the GOP babbles. I assume it's true there?

@singlemaltgirl

His office won't say. In 2020, he is reported to have written in Condoleeza Rice.

I think the presidency was very damaging for him. He was a terrible president, but a decent human being. Cheney et al pushed him into running on his name and then pretty much told him what to do. I wasn't surprised very much when he opted for post-office obscurity.

Well at least he's not endorsing Trump

Former President George W. Bush has no plans to endorse in the election

"President Bush retired from presidential politics years ago," his office said in a statement to NBC News.

when peeps talk about 'woke' being in direct opposition to merit, let me say this:

if we lived in a meritocracy, there would be a helluva lot of white men in leadership, positions of power, decision making roles who would receive a wake up call about their mediocrity & there would be more women, peeps of colour, peeps w/ disabilities moved to the top based on their qualifications, competence, & intelligence.

woke is not in contradiction to merit based employment. it's a conduit to it.

I miss my !

This is Miss NotPayton. She looks fierce, but she was the sweetest girlbird. She'd come and sit next to me on the stoop and watch the day go by.

Olivia Colman is one of my favorite actors. I'll watch almost anything she does.

This is hilarious, tho

@Windyla77 delightful!

Maybe not all, but at least some, on 9/26. I love the no nonsense way Chutkan is handling things. She's completely unimpressed by ridiculous arguments that make "that judge in Florida" throw out cases.

Thanks for linking that!

@Kinnison

It's about damn time.

This country asks young people (sometimes *tells* young people) to give up years of their lives and risk those very lives.

And in return?

They can go hungry, homeless, suffer from physical and/or mental health issues with little help.

While most vets go on to live blessedly ordinary lives, many don't. And the nation owes it to them and their families to, as best as possible, make them whole. We do a shockingly inadequate job of it.
