There isn’t, nor should there be, one platform to rule them all. I’m a big advocate of an open web. I’m on Mastodon, Bluesky and here. I’m only social here but that’s my choice and reasons I’ve given.
You know how annoying it is when you try promote coso on other places and they stop you?
Here isn’t and shouldn’t be like that. Bluesky is news today, maybe it won’t be tomorrow. Maybe it’ll be the new Twitter 🤷🏻♂️
I prefer coso because of the folk I’ve friended.

@process I do miss the before Musk twitter. Because of the many artists on the platform from music literature and other mediums. It was due to huge number of users and global reach. I hope one of my current platforms can increase followers in the arts.
@pkatlga23 absolutely, it’s why I join them and keep an eye. It was great for following what you were interested in on a truly global scale. I’d love for here to scale like that.
Slow and steady wins the race hopefully. And if it only grows enough to pay the bills and then some I’ll be happy too, it’s my safe space as such.
@process Agreed. I don't think we come out on top of any other SM when we make it a mission to actively hate on the others. That's more of a distraction from what makes us great.
@process This is the place I've chosen to be my 'social media home'. If there were restrictions on what I could talk about, or what things I could say good or bad things about, that wouldn't be the case.
As I see it, Bluesky has a very good chance of being "the new Twitter". And that's not really a compliment. It's subject to the same financial pressures and incentives, so I think it's just a matter of time before it goes the same way.
I've just arrived here and finding it difficult so far to find my tribe. I'll persevere as there's probably some useful bit of knowledge I've missed.
BlueSky and Mastodon I'm finding a tad easier but I'm more aligned with the ethos here.

also you can try using the Simple Mode which is a lot like the interface of Mastodon / BlueSky / Twitter as you get used to this new land.
CoSo takes some getting used to and there's no rush. It's not about following so you don't even have to think about that here, it's just people, wonderful people in a unique & special community.

@StevePLMarquis I think the top tip for finding "your tribe" so to speak is to keep posting about the stuff you're passionate about and when you do, use a relevant hashtag (#)CosoMusic for instance is what most folk use when posting songs/videos or just chatting about the subject.
Do that, and most likely your tribe will find you, instead of you having to search.
