The Good: He learned to go to the door when he wants to go outside.
The Okay: He thinks the yard is strictly for this……
@TomeReader he's not wrong. Unless it's too hot for a black doggo. Gunner will sit in it and roast too long but makes us go all the way into the yard to chase him back in

He won't do his business in the yard. Even first thing in the morning, he'll hold it until we walk him.That's workable for now, but not ideal for winter. 🥶
try putting a leash on him and walking him around the yard. give him permission.

We're doing that, it just hasn't clicked for him yet.
I had a dog who was having this same issue... Finally, I peed in the yard while he was watching. That worked.
Of course, I had very high fences and no neighbors could see into that corner of the yard.
i was going to suggest that, but not knowing the landscape 🤣🤣🤣
