Maybe I'm an old man yelling at the clouds but ...
22 yr old co-worker didn't know how to operate a staple remover or a copier this week.
What are we doing to kids growing up this days???
@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine @ThrasherPrime
YouTube is 100% the answer to both, for simple stuff there is almost always a video or seven.
@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine @ThrasherPrime i had a coworker in his 30s who couldn't tell the difference between saving a file to the network or to his local pc😂
@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine My wife couldn't figure that out. LOL
@ThrasherPrime why are we printing and stapling so many things? I just took over overseeing a department and the manager there used to use a case of paper a month. He'd get everything digitally and print it and file it then delete the digital copy. Then after a year shred it. It's been a month and we haven't even used half a reem and instead used another 5mbs on the server..... Half the paper I printed was to replace outdated signage. Ugh...
@Waldo06 I understand and agree with your point. Unfortunately I don't have the power to fix that. Sometimes the stuff I'm handed to audit is staples together, we can't scan it. So I need to take it apart and put back together. Sometimes the client uses log books that cannot be scanned so we need to copy them old school style.
@ThrasherPrime ugh why! Why is everything still paper!!!!!
I'm very anti paper lol.
@Waldo06 My favorite is when a client uses excel then prints it out to have 2 people sign off on it. 🤦♂️
@ThrasherPrime lol Jane Fonda in "9 to 5"
@ThrasherPrime While the stapler is a useful tool (i have one), i could see this not being something everyone has in their possession and therefore wouldn't know how to use. One would think a 22 yr old would know how to use copiers, but if you never had anything like a printer at home it's very likely at that age that they wouldn't know how to use one either. 🤷♀️
@ThrasherPrime I can troubleshoot complex electronics and perform repairs down to the component level, even on micromin items.
I can setup a server, I can provision all sorts of manufacturing equipment.
I am terrified anytime I have to pretend to understand how to use a fax machine. 😅😅
Sometimes it's just a thing.
@ThrasherPrime I have a 46 yr old coworker who can’t read cursive.
@annamuneca That's crazy.
@ThrasherPrime but can the find a file an make an attachment? I mean I feel you but a lot of older people can't do the file part sigh.
