Well, it's after midnight. It's supposed to be 94 fucking degrees here today. I'm not looking forward to this. Hopefully, if meteorologists are correct, it will cool off tomorrow -- back into the mid 80s, at least. Let's see what kind of storms this insane weather pattern kicks up.

Deconstruction ponderings:

When they tell you to believe what the Bible says about God, are they saying you need to believe in God -- or that you need to believe what the Bible says about him/her? When you pray and something good happens, is it because you believed God would do it, or was it going to happen anyway? If everything good is due to God's goodness, why aren't bad things due to his badness? I have so many questions......

I miss newspapers.

In other news, the missing pillow cases are back home!! The only thing we can think of is this: the last time I changed out those sheets, it was because Lenny had blown snot all over them. I threw them in the washer, then took the pillowcases off and put them in my laundry basket. My daughter was doing a small amount of clothes and threw them in with her load, but forgot to leave them in my room when she took them out of the dryer.

Chicken math is taking over again. We are allowed to have 12 chickens in this neighborhood. However, things being what they are, I don't count in phantom as an entire chicken. Therefore, when the lady We rescued the other phantoms from let us know she had three more, we agreed to take them. That will technically give us eight bantams and seven big chickens, but we count it as seven big chickens and 3 medium chickens -- because it takes three bantam eggs to equal one standard egg.

If you're in the mood to make a memorable end of your evening, try dumping a bowl of fresh hot chili on your lap. The sensation is invigorating, to say the least.

Out of all the pics I've ever taken, I think this is my favorite. I spent a hell of a lot of time sitting still in our back yard in MO in order to get this shot with my old DSLR camera.

It's only 73° here right now, so I took advantage of the opportunity and deadheaded all three of my rose bushes. I also trimmed them a little bit and watered the outside plants. I love this weather, even if there are a few critters outside trying to bite me and do other mean things.
