There's a local paper here but the town we live in only has 5000 people in it, so the news is mostly stuff we already know. NOBODY here lives a secret life. Small towns are like that.

Back in the 60s when I was a kid, we had a party line. This is just another version of that.
"Billy Joe Bob Ralph's hounddawg done runned off. He ain't wearing a collar or tag, ain't microchipped, hasn't had his shots, and ain't neutered.
The dawg, on th' other hand, is wearin' a red collar, has a tag that says Bubba on it, is neutered, has a microchip, and is up to date on his vaccinations.
The dawg requests you keep him if you find him."
