Let's say you're still on Twitter (hi).
Let's say you have friends going "WHY THERE? WHY NOT (insert platform here)."
So far, this place has been NOTHING but pleasant and the interactions good. New interface, who dis, but so what?
However, if someone you like asked you to advocate the BEST things about CS, what would YOUR answer be?
@Marmel When I post something on CoSo, I am not hammered by a bunch of bots who are riding algorithms to influence my engagement. I am not harrassed by an army of trolls. I am not force-fed advertisements. I am not a product to be sold.
That last is huge. Social media weaponizes our own interactions against us everywhere, except here.
@Marmel Best? The people and community. Runners-up? No algorithms, bots or ads (or hate...or trolls...plus tons of bells and whistles...but I digress)
The people First.
Then the features, edit and repost, Nobody counts flowers, the lack of "influencers". No ads. No Bots, No harvesting data.
Then the Pro features. CoSoCall I use all the time, works well even with people not on CoSo, Robust Filtering, On and on.
I despise "social media" but love CoSo
most social media sites are a cesspool of influencers, algorithms, ads, bots, trolls, and generally all the worst aspects of the internet distilled and concentrated to fuel engagement via outrage
CoSo is just folks being folks...real people posting things and interacting with one another like we'd do at a pub or coffee shop or book club etc...
I wouldn't be here if it were anything like twitter

That it's a real community. People here treat each other with respect, notice when someone's not been around, ask after each other... and help each other when we're down.

#1. Security features built in. My data is not mined and sold. I’m safe from bots, trolls and bad actors from nefarious countries
#2. Community here is cream of the crop. Helping others not just with the platform but in situations of a personal nature if they share. Empathetic souls reside here.
#3. Fun. This place rocks with comedic value, best music and all around good people who make COSO the only place I want to hang out.
@Marmel Today is day one for me and it's growing on me. Obviously, there are @cos growing pains (outages etc.), but it's not owned by THAT guy.
