Soundcloud might be our best option as it's easy to enable free streaming and therefore zero profit.
If J is ok with setting up a cosooffical account, it should be ok. I know JGL gave public permission for projects like ours but obviously we don't want to get on the wrong side of a record company if we can avoid it.
I wonder if there's a way to get it to JGL and ask first.

That's where they sorcerer the original and if they get a chance to show off continuing enthusiasm for one of their projects they might also be amenable to making it available to others

The publishing company will want their money. They don't care what the artist thinks about it.

They get a flat fee for the license to perform it, not a percentage of profit. They send people around to bars and malls to see if there is music playing and whether they have a license displayed.
@EileenKCarpenter There is a *massive* difference between public performace/broadcast licensing, which is what you are referencing, and copyright licensing. If the publisher (very often the artist themselves nowadays, like me) puts a piece out under "creative commons" it means *anybody* can use it providing they credit the original artist. With no fees!
