@Mary_F_Poppins It'll either clear up on its own, or my doctor will make it clear up. It's just a question of how long. But at least it feels like the house is quiet and peaceful!
@Dogofalltrees I'm a very resilient delicate creature. This is just kind of "next weird thing on the list" for me. 😄 And I am thankful that I have a really good doctor.
So...it seems #covid has taken most of my hearing, but only temporarily! So, I mean, don't panic like I did at first.
I have hearing loss from ear infections and surgery as a kid, but not enough for hearing aids to be considered medically necessary. Suddenly, everything sounds like I'm underwater! Likely to be fluid buildup in the middle ear. Hopefully it'll clear soon.
So, back in the days before trump, when I didn’t have to obsess over politics out of a fear that my rights would be stripped from me, I mostly posted about my writing.
Very happy to start doing that again here on CoSo.
In case you’re looking for something to read… My latest book, Art Therapy! Enjoy! #AmWriting #Books #IndieAuthor #WritingCommunity
@ruffboi I can just see it... "'Bless Your Heart!': Hexing in US Southern States". And then nobody knows which section of the bookstore to look for it in.
@ruffboi Over the years, I have become convinced that the heart blessing varies slightly state-by-state. And I think North Texas had it's own version that was different from where I'm from.
Someone should write a book on this. Why do I suspect that's going to be me someday?
@ruffboi Mm, no. I don't even think he qualifies to have his heart blessed anymore. That implies SOME hope exists, even if we all know he won't do his share to make it work.
This is more like the point where you just gesture at the whole thing while making the "I TOLD y'all!" face.
@Ludo_C I'm almost at 29,000! But I got a strong start this year. This is normally when I start worrying about catching up.
Remember, it's about quieting the inner editor. Just let it flow and end up where it ends up.
@OneLillieSpark Happy birthday! 💜 I'll catch up in a few years! 😄
@AlbertCashiersCousin Both cats lost their mothers way too early. I think they may feel a bond with each other because of that. Like they know whatever makes them different from the other cats is shared with each other.
My cat has decided my sisters-in-law's cat is actually HER cat. She will sit glowing in adoration, looking like she is thankful to be so blessed that he came and ate from her food bowl. If he walks into the room, she suddenly lives to groom his ears. They chirp to each other in a language only they speak. #CoSoCats
@catmomdo Thank you!
@corlin It was a very calming experience. I might do more of these.
My first experiment with neurographic art. I'd like to thank every Lovecraftian author whose writing encouraged me to ignore what the physical world shows me about shadows and light and just shade things however I want to. #CoSoArt
Big project starting tomorrow for an esoteric group I became a member of this year. Different from what I'm used to with OBOD - very different - but the two paths are kind of leading me to the same place.
I'm a little nervous. But I remind myself this group accepted me for who I am, not trying to make me into someone else, so I just have to do my own thing. #CoSoPagans
@PRPLDRAGON I hope they turn out fabulous!
Finally was able to get a little time with the colored pencils today!
Realized what I'm doing is going to take more time and layers than I first thought. Giving myself permission to do smaller, quicker things and come back to it. #CoSoArt
@Museek I actually found out in the past year that, if you go back a few generations in my biological father's mother's family, I have Mississippi Choctaw ancestors. I don't really know what to do with that knowledge. I want to honor them and make sure they aren't forgotten. But I'm white.
