@PaganMother @OneLillieSpark There's a Langston Hughes poem that addresses that very thing. He died in the 60s and the poem sounds like it could have been written today.

No graphic violence or anything in the poem. But he addresses how many groups have never been included in "the American dream".

@folkmagifili We often have similar interests that go in different directions. Until I learned knitting, I crocheted and he knitted. He's done cross-stitch, I prefer freehand embroidery. I play the ukulele, he plays piano.

@Rstrahs Yeah, I can't say there's ever really a convenient time, but some times would be less inconvenient than others.

@iLovAussieSheps Thank you. I'm kind of like, "Hmm...so what do you do when the thing you're coping with takes away your coping techniques?" But I hope to pick up the pens and brushes again soon!

I think my fever is trying to break. That's a good thing! Maybe I'll be able to draw again soon.

Just haven't been able to for a few days now, and I'm feeling the effects. Art is an important part of my self-care.

It's my dad's birthday. He would have been 65.

He didn't do everything right, but he did everything with the right intentions. Some of what he did wrong was his fault. Some of it wasn't. He was human.

I love him. I miss him. I stopped putting "still" in there because I understand that I always will.

@MookyTroubadour I think it was just the fever taking over. Poor cat's just staring wide-eyed, ears flat, while I rant about his nose being what happens when you start fighting about who is The Biggest Nerd.
