If anyone tells you that a one layer cake is enough cake for 4-6 people, ignore them.
It's not.
I'm making my daughter's bday and my wife was trying to convince me to just do one layer.
As the baker in the house, I lay down the law on cake. This is a 2 layer minimum household.

Here's the cake. I cut the center of both layers out, stacked them and filled it with m&ms.
Also, using ganache on this scale was a PITA.
