Something I haven't heard discussed in all of this fallout from the January 6th incident is the upgrades to physical security and procedures that have undoubtedly been made to the Capitol building.
I wouldn't be surprised if there are now automatic security bulkheads and embedded non-lethal active denial / directed energy weapons, just off the top of my head. We will never hear specifics on those things, which is as it should be.

There was always talk about how the Capitol building had sliding bulkheads that would slam down.
The reality is they didn't exist, and the windows were just panes of glass, and the Emergency exits still worked as required by law
mainly because republicans never see a need to allow funding for extra security of the building cause they are more interested in Tax cuts for the rich

I'm actually in that minority group that thinks SCOTUS and Congress don't need additional security.

For sure. Make sure our government is the most susceptible to gun violence and they'll fix it YESTERDAY.

Yup, I don't know that I would limit it to gop though. Democrats are also pretty good at hand wringing and distraction. Of course when the Ds aren't doing that they do things to generally help the working class.

@voltronic I definitely feel like security to all our elected officials and poll workers needs to be heightened. I hope they've upgraded security in the capital! And I hope like heck Joe Biden is being very well protected. Things seem a little crazier than usual to me just lately.
