Points to anyone who can guess which of the arrays in the above image is the only one I haven't used before and I'm running tomorrow.
Double points to anyone who knows what the angles in the diagram indicate. Hint: it's not the angle between the microphones.

Winner! It's the Stereo Recording Angle, The angle where sound sources falling within that wedge will image between the speakers on playback. Anything falling outside that angle will appear panned hard L or R.

@voltronic I knew coverage wasn’t really right. Yes. It’s fascinating how the positing of the mics together creates that illusion or coloring.

It came out quite well, and you can hear right away how the shuffling in post is required because it's got that hollow, in the box XY sound without it. I'll post a couple samples once I get stuff edited this weekend.
