Looking for a good secure chat alternative?
Make an account at https://dismail.de and get yourself a good XMPP chat client.
Make sure to get one that can use OMEMO encryption, which Dismail supports. I like Conversations on n Android. ChatSecure is recommended for iOS.
Several of us have already migrated there from Wire. It's extremely responsive.
I previously posted about Dismail as a free encrypted email provider, which is included with your XMPP chat account.
You can hit me up at my XMPP address listed in my profile and I'll add you to our private chat.
You can also do public chats, which are non-encrypted, but that kind of defeats the purpose of doing this in the first place.

FTR, I'm not advocating that the above solution is The Way. It is just "a" way that happens to work, and one I believe is more trustworthy and anonymous than other alternatives.
Decentralized, time-tested protocols with modern encryption are a Good Thing.
