Looking at sofas. I'll be buying one after I move, but went ahead and got some fabric samples for my favorite.
I like this company. They have fabric options that are specifically cat-friendly (snag-resistant).
I just took my favorites, including a light blue one, and put curry powder, oil, and soy sauce on them to see how much they stained.
I was able to completely wipe them clean with just a paper towel. Even the light blue has zero visible stain and feels clean.
A classic look, with modern touches.
I really like the high back and medium arms--good for sitting up and reading or laying down and watching TV.
@tyghebright I like the design too and that the cushions look substantial - they'll last longer and provide strong support. Great color!
I'm actually looking at the Wine, Essex, (dark blue-green) or French Blue... and the wood legs with brass caps.
I like the default color, but my decor is mostly blues and greens, with accents of dark red.
@tyghebright nice! i like their shades :)
@tyghebright In 2025, those aren’t the important fluids to worry about with couches.
They are the sources of the stains on my current couch. (Which I bought because it was cheap but still decent looking.)
I eat there, and food + cats and my own clumsiness means spills.
@tyghebright what sorcery is this?
(curry powder will have turmeric in it won't it? that stuff will stain anything...)
Yes. Turmeric. And it wiped off without a trace.
I can still smell it a little, but no stain.
sounds great. couldn't find information on fabric content though.
do you know what it is?
They're polyester. At least the velvets I have samples of are.
(It says on the fabric swatch, but I didn't see that info anywhere online.)
ah yes. polyester makes sense.
@tyghebright that's classy.
