A side effect of this, for many folks with ADHD, is that we're also able to quickly figure out a conversation or subject from context cues. When we snap back and realize we've missed something, we can often surmise enough to jump back in. And good at speaking in ways that hide what we missed.
This skill makes me VERY good in a classroom setting, where people often think I know more than I do. Which masked my ADHD for most of my life.

Yep. I'm sure my teachers would have been surprised to learn I usually read the book the night before the exam, because I would have been right there in the class discussion about it all semester.
