Wow. Friend of mine just posted the following scam:
"I just got a video call from a friend of mine it was his face, lasted 2 seconds and hung up then the person texts me in messenger and asks me to help him get a code because their account had been hacked so they could prove it was them"
Seems like they're recording video of people as they answer the call, and using it on other calls.
That's a twist I hadn't seen.
@tyghebright I had colleagues that looked at me like I was weird because I blocked my device cameras with tape or clips made for that purpose, unless I was using them on purpose.
I've used the sticky strip from post-it notes. It has to be replaced from time to time but it does the job and is easy to remove and put back.
@AskTheDevil more devices coming with physical disconnects / blocking sliders is one of the best trends in tech.
@Smersh @tyghebright I agree. I do not trust software disconnects from recording and surveillance devices. I prefer a physical block.
@tyghebright thank you, if that happens to me, I know to fuck with them. 😁 Lots of awkward and strange questions...with any luck, the frustration might make them keel over and die. Then the world becomes a better place with one less vermin in it.
@tyghebright guess how much respect I have for scammers? Zero, zilch, zip! 😁 They sometimes make amusing play things to torture when they contact me though, I like to drag out the suffering until they give up. I never give up, my aim is to waste time and cause frustration to the little shit bags. I love it when they take my crazy stories as true because they are greedy and/or have poor English. 🤣 Ridiculous surveys for them are a laugh too.
I love watching the youtubers who really mess with them hard, doing things like finding the call center and hacking their cameras.
@tyghebright oh yes! 😁 Nothing like seeing scammers suffer to brighten up the day. I can't do anything that clever but I can bullshit and annoy, whether on the phone or via email. I am mostly ridiculous and time wasting but sometimes I'm abusive and sadistic on the phone. They are scum and sometimes it's therapy to shout abuse at them. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Sometimes I hunt them on scam reporting sites just to torment them on email. They deserve all of the pain. Hate them.

Why would I give any of my codes to a friend? I wouldn't even give any of my codes even to a dying aunt. A code is my personal stuff not even my husband has access to any code of mine.
