Sometimes I feel like a child, lost at the mall—disoriented and looking for comfort and safety in a crowd of strangers.

These are hard to find these days, especially in our context of conflict and loss, sorrow and fear.

So here is a photo of a sunrise, with all of the peace, beauty and possibility it represents.

I hope some of you would be willing to share a photo of something that brings you comfort or peace…it might be just what someone else needs to see.

I am in an amazing state of Now.

Every meal, activity, conversation, van trip and utterance may well be my last with Anne. She will be 100 in July. We share the same birthday.

Like my father who rallied just before passing, I have these fantastic memories created as Thelma & Louise.

If she waits until after her 100th birthday—wonderful. If she doesn’t, we have no regrets. She rallied for me and we did it all.

Each day is a slow and profound blessing.

comment on a photo: "awfully nice of your husband to let you buy things"
my reply: huh? these words do not parse.

if your husband/wife controls everything you buy, you're in an abusive relationship. get out!

We need a new law that requires anyone purchasing a dystopian novel to sign a statement that they understand it’s a cautionary tale, not an instruction manual.

And if you need to get lost for a while, here's a path to consider wandering.

@tippitiwichet *slaps broomstick* this baby can fit so many pithy sayings in it 😆

@tippitiwichet The world will never be ready for that, so you may as well do it now.

Can y'all do me a favor? I know we pagans tend to have a good sense of humor over our religion, we laugh along at the green warty witches during Halloween, and try to be politely quiet when "witch" is substituted for "bitch" to make it a more socially acceptable insult, but can someone let me know when the world is ready for me to speak up about how I feel when I see the phrase "witch hunt" thrown around in the media? There's history there that stings. Also, kind of threatening.

In case you are thinking how to decorate the wall...beehive, Ladies and Gentlemen...

What is up with politicians, thinking it's okay to go around telling people they kill dogs and worms eat their brain? Trump's example has made them get sloppy.

When you don't _really_ know what happened, instead of just picking the one possible imaginative scenario that suits the narrative you already want to believe, try thinking up other scenarios that incorporate the same evidence, but tell a different story.

The Cacao leathers on the dehydrator have made the house smell like I'm baking brownies and it's so hard to resist the urge to bake and eat sweets. So glad I got this dehydrator. It's been years since I had one, I think "fruit leathers" is going to be my family's favorite "Crap, Mom's creativity is spilling into the kitchen again" pastime. Lol, I thought I was just going to make bird food with it.

My fruit leather trays for my dehydrator arrived, now I get to play with dehydrating nutritious smoothies into treats. Currently have experiments with protein shakes, bananas, berries, cacao, and flax going on. One used a hazelnut almond milk to make the smoothie. There has got to be some kind of flavor this kid is willing to eat to offset her picky habits.
