the act of balancing oxygen and carbon dioxide that is breathing determines how the body functions, how the brain perceives, how moods come and go.

Celia is starting to show color, finally. This strong survivor was a weed in some live moss, she looked like a tequila sunrise. I knocked her crown off when transplanting after her first year, then I had a bunch of lights break, then there was damage from high minerals in the substrate, then the hospital stay where she dried up and sat in the dark for a couple of weeks. It's been so long since she has blushed peachy tones, I was starting to wonder if it would ever happen again.

Old chauffeurs never die. They just lose their drive.😂

Yaaay, I have to practice being around people more (strangers trigger my dystonia, and I will need to pass a job interview without having wild contortions soon) and I found a knitting circle that meets right at the library down the street, close enough to walk!

This is one of my goals in life...one day I want to be known as the Fox Lady or the Opossum Lady or some other *insert wild creature or helper function here* Lady

For those of you experiencing visceral memories of that day in 2001, I'm sorry for your loss and pain.

It feels like we've fallen very far since that day. Our fear led us to do terrible things in the name of that event, which we have not fully acknowledged, enabling behaviors and outcomes that have nothing to do with that day.

I want us to remember, but we must also acknowledge what it has cost our national soul.

Dusted off another of my old favorites, a story inspired by the King of Pentacles, reversed, using the Zombie Tarot deck. I love that deck for urban fantasy and horror type stories so hard.

I have a worm bin I don't use because of frequent road trips, but my little indoor garden is designed to be portable, and I just realized I can have a tiny bin in a little plastic shoebox. Fingers crossed a pet store somewhere has red wrigglers for feeders :).

I was doing the kind of gardening that uses tiny brushes, tweezers, and an X-acto knife while doing mindfulness exercises concerning self-compassion, and having a lovely time. Then, it popped into my head that I once joked about what it would do to my psyche if I started meditating on my carnivorous plants, given their seductive and predatory nature. I guess I’m about to find out. Anyway, Scarlet Belle and the tippitiwichets had a spa day.

Today is the first day that the sun has looked like this, that the sky has looked like this, that the air has smelled like this.
It deserves to be celebrated! It is unique and new. It fills your soul.
Just like every day.
