For those of you experiencing visceral memories of that day in 2001, I'm sorry for your loss and pain.

It feels like we've fallen very far since that day. Our fear led us to do terrible things in the name of that event, which we have not fully acknowledged, enabling behaviors and outcomes that have nothing to do with that day.

I want us to remember, but we must also acknowledge what it has cost our national soul.

@sfleetucker I've been reading/ posting a couple articles that explore just this. I am not American, but as you know Canadians are acutely aware of US politics and trends. And, it's not unique to America, not now.
