Of course I would find out that my old college offers access to scholarly articles for alumni, not just current students, after I stopped doing research on carnivorous plants that included several articles I couldn't access. Naturally.

The other day, I made someone who is "not homophobic, but" stop and think. He said he had to turn off a show his kid was watching because two guys were kissing on it. I said if that kind of pressure worked, we would all be straight, as the vast majority of shows had straight couples. He couldn't counter me, and I saw him working it out in his head, he looked confused and I think I saw the hints of a seed being planted. Hope it grows.

Hi, y'all. I deleted the drama, just got out of the psych ward, prozac is working. Will be kicking it on the street for a bit, but I've been here before, I'll be just fine. Phone battery needed, won't be around much.

Frankly, hearing that six unnamed, uncharged co conspirators exists really pisses me off. (So messed up that this can exist within me alongside the warm and glowing feelings, humans are weird.)

If you ever get annoyed by the Thanksgiving thing, given the bullshit by the Puritans, and you just don't want to anymore, but your family needs that whole get together for renewal and feasting and whatnot in the fall, I invite you to celebrate Lughnasadh (today) or Mabon (the autumn equinox) as a harvest instead. I'm personally pushing for a Mabon celebration with my family, with you know, pushback, but thankfully I'm annoying and don't give up often, but you know. There are alternatives.

Sometimes I feel stupid and ashamed of my massive attempt to calm down and promote understanding while the world is on fire (and maybe someone yelled at me for it on Mastodon today), but at least the shame isn't nearly as huge as it is when I give in to the rage and explode all over someone who maybe deserved a gentle rebuke instead.

If there is one thing I have learned from my new Korean drama thing it is do NOT accept an invitation for a quiet cup of tea, it is a trap.

I posted something on Mastodon about starting cuttings from my flowering alfalfa and someone responded with "it is impossible to root flowering plants." I said something about I knew there were lower probabilities, but I had lost all the nitrogen fixers in my garden, and the attempt was my best bet. They came back with a "love to see the results" that sounded like a hope for my failure. Would it be bitchy to tag them in a photo of my rooting plants a couple of months later?
