If you tell me something about my personal style is offensive, such as tattoos, hair color, etc. you are not shaming me into conforming. You are letting me know judgemental people will avoid me based solely on appearance, and that's actually pretty cool with me.

Asked my rainbow dealer to up the dosage… I think it’s safe to say she delivered. 🌈🦄✨

“When people injure you, ask yourself what good or harm they thought would come of it. If you understand that, you’ll feel sympathy rather than outrage or anger. Your sense of good and evil may be the same as theirs, or near it, in which case you have to excuse them. Or your sense of good and evil may differ from theirs. In which case they’re misguided and deserve your compassion. Is that so hard?”

Yay, the ad algorithms have picked up on my microscope related searches, so I'm getting cool ads now for things like culturing supplies.

Wheeeee carnivorous plant class in Wednesday 😍

Just logged in to Netflix and this show Wednesday pops up with a goth girl in front of a high school help stop I am overcome with emotion I had no idea this was going to happen how come no one told me this was going to happen

Food for thought about the loss of on -

I got two notifications about the shooting as the news was breaking, saw a couple of links here and it was the top story on the aggregators. I don't feel like I've missed any news by not checking Twitter, just the hot takes, misinformation, and speculation.

Just me?

Morning thought:

We're united by our basic needs for tangible things: air, food, clothing, medicine, shelter from cold, wind, rain, and sun.

Where people tend to part is the intangibles they value. We see people driven almost to madness over things that are just words: pride, honor, patriotism, heritage. But other words push people in the other direction: love, peace, kindness, charity, compassion.

A simple question to ask is: do the words I follow lead me to fear, hatred, and division?

While my mother plants go dormant on the porch, a few winter babies are starting to come up inside. The sundew box is full of cuttings, I want plenty of them for cheese making experiments next year. I picked D. intermedia for the sundew species, as it seems to be taking over the outdoor collection rather well.

Sphagnum moss has no roots. Instead, it's leaves can soak up water like a sponge with its open cell structure.

Today's Venus flytrap has red pigmentation, for cooler looking slides. The two of the same angle are lit from above and below, and together show quite well how the world is made of stained glass.

So, I did what I do and took my repeating tile of Venus Flytrap cells and recolored it in vivid and unrealistic ways. Those can all be desktop wallpaper, if you feel so inclined, or let me know if you kind of want it on some Redbubble stuff, I can totally provide that for you.
