If you tell me something about my personal style is offensive, such as tattoos, hair color, etc. you are not shaming me into conforming. You are letting me know judgemental people will avoid me based solely on appearance, and that's actually pretty cool with me.

lol the first time i ever did my hair blue, i got tons of comments.
but the BEST bit was the people who would glance at me and then immediately examine the floor, then pass by without eye contact.
it's a fantastic filter for avoiding people who used to assume i was just like them.
