A local greenhouse sells them in the spring.
When in doubt... throw money.
@P_D_Austin @Iamstaceylynn If I'm throwing money for a mantis, it will be an orchid mantis, not some garden store ootheca :). "Shopping for mantis" will be all the motivation I need for that threshold to trigger.

I'm going to have to do some reading to figure out when the best time to get them will be.
