@tippitiwichet @P_D_Austin I didn't get egg cases this year & I regret it. I love having 1000s of the little guys around after they hatch!
I really need to get some egg cases this next spring.
@P_D_Austin @Iamstaceylynn I was going to catch the next adult female I saw, hoping to guarantee an egg case, but I haven't seen either another one, nor an egg case.
A local greenhouse sells them in the spring.
When in doubt... throw money.
@P_D_Austin @Iamstaceylynn If I'm throwing money for a mantis, it will be an orchid mantis, not some garden store ootheca :). "Shopping for mantis" will be all the motivation I need for that threshold to trigger.
I'm going to have to do some reading to figure out when the best time to get them will be.
@P_D_Austin @Iamstaceylynn OMGS y'all, I hit send, stood up, stretched, daughter burst in, "Mom, I found a mantis!" Off to decorate a habitat. Lol, no orchid mantis for me this year :( *sniff*
