This is the most honest pros/cons discussion of the current state of the Democratic party's response to the current polling I've seen.
MAGA candidate releases unhinged video to "prove" that her car doesn't make her gay
@AskTheDevil in substance, no. In presentation yes. He mostly lied as expected. What people weren't expecting was for so many of those lies to go unchallenged by Biden.
Polling shows that the vast majority had already set their voting intention months ago. The remaining persuadable electors are disengaged from politics and go on what they saw, and what they saw wasn't a one-off.
@Tarnagh I appreciate that and I wish that his past accomplishments in office could offset his present state, but the fundamental truth of mortality is that we all have a shelf-life. His present state is a better indicator of future performance than the past and the electorate knows this.
Since avoiding a second Trump term is more important to me than political loyalty, I hope the campaign's internal polling and donations data leads Biden to the right decision for the good of the country.
I will remember the people who are telling me that I didn't see what I saw on debate night, that his performance was good with Stephanopoulos, that I'm the one endangering democracy.
The parallels between these people and the flagrant denials of Maga Republicans are striking.
I will remember these people and that they thought so little of me.
@Alfred given the seating plan of an Air Canada A380 flying from Toronto to Edinburgh at full occupancy and assuming typical human digestive systems, how many facts am I about to smell?
@th3j35t3r I worked for a medical device software company regulated by the FDA. I saw a tremendous effort to fill out forms attesting to good processes, but feel that the outcomes may not have been appreciably better than your approach.
If I were the UN ambassador to a failed petro-state run by an ex-KGB mobster, I wouldn't be saying these things about my boss's favored candidate for the US presidency near any open windows.
Trump says he can end the Russia-Ukraine war in one day. Russia's UN ambassador says he can't https://apnews.com/article/trump-russia-ukraine-war-un-election-a78ecb843af452b8dda1d52d137ca893
@Ironworker229 totally agree. It's performance. It won't go anywhere. But to just sit back and let it happen is complicity, and frankly, fuck that shit.
@MMH no Greece v. Galloway?
Leadership. This is what it looks like. Please take note and emulate her or get out of the way.
We can't afford congeniality. That belongs in the politics of the previous age.

I want to underscore that, in conjunction with Project 2025's plan to reclassify most agency employees as political appointees, this decision is very, VERY bad. It hands a HUGE amount of power to one person. ONE.
I don't care if that person shares your politics or not. ONE person is not meant to have that much power in our system. No one person should have that much power in ANY system. 7/
@mikeflstfi congratulations! We got our building warrant last August, but our main contractor is yet to receive all quotes from the subs. So far, it's been an exercise in patience.
@elbutterfield I donated $1,000 to the Biden campaign last week. I appreciate how important it is that Trump doesn't get a second term. However, I don't think I'm serving myself well by squinting to see what wasn't there last night.
