I was attracted to this guitar because of the unusual wood on the back and sides. It’s curly English Oak. The top is spruce and has a really great patina.
The guitar sounds really good and now plays well. I’m still very amateurish in my guitar restoration work, but learning with each project. Fun!
Just “finished” my latest guitar restoration project (still a bit of cosmetic work to do.) This guitar was probably built by Lyon and Healy circa 1920 for the Samuel Osborne Company, which had a showroom in the Masonic Temple Building in downtown Chicago.
When I got it, it needed crack repair, tuner replacement, neck reset, bridge work and new saddle. 1/2

Today I have been digitizing old cassette tapes and mixing to clean up the production. This is for a client who wrote a bunch of songs and recorded years ago. Now wants to revive them and shop them around.
Fun to breath new life into these!
