Just “finished” my latest guitar restoration project (still a bit of cosmetic work to do.) This guitar was probably built by Lyon and Healy circa 1920 for the Samuel Osborne Company, which had a showroom in the Masonic Temple Building in downtown Chicago.
When I got it, it needed crack repair, tuner replacement, neck reset, bridge work and new saddle. 1/2
@sonnybillglover How cool is that!👍
@sonnybillglover Lyon and Healy made guitars? Wow, I did not know that. We have a 1929 Lyon and Healy Grand Piano.
@GlindaHarrison very cool! Bet it sounds great.
@sonnybillglover It does and the art deco look of the piano is very cool.
That is *gorgeous*. 😍

I was attracted to this guitar because of the unusual wood on the back and sides. It’s curly English Oak. The top is spruce and has a really great patina.
The guitar sounds really good and now plays well. I’m still very amateurish in my guitar restoration work, but learning with each project. Fun!
