“Senator Menendez should resign. He's entitled to the presumption of innocence under our system, but he is not entitled to continue to wield influence over national policy, especially given the serious and specific nature of the allegations."

Wise words. The appearance of corruption in the Senate is an important, valid concern. Dems should pressure him to resign.

Truly worthy of the term "classic".

It seems quite clear the party formerly known as "Republican" is working to politicize EVERYTHING these days.

This includes government, health care, education and sports. I believe it's due to their member's fear of losing their place, identity, and influence in our society.

At some point it becomes obvious that the values and beliefs they share include selfishness, dishonesty, bigotry, misogyny, racism, and ethnocentrism.

This doesn't alarm them at all. They JUST DON'T CARE.

We are all desperately waiting for the rule of law to be reestablished and justice to be brought to very senior Republican political figures (including a past POTUS).

Therefore Sen. Menendez must go. I don't care if he's a Democrat. Yeah, the charges have not yet been proven. But he shouldn't be in the Senate based on the appearance of corruption alone.

Let's reestablish the morality and integrity of our Congressmen, shall we? This is more important than policy and #politics.

Seems obvious that McCarthy is in a no-win situation. He'll have to just ignore the crazy wing of his caucus and work with Dems to get the government funded (assuming he really does care about that).

But after that accomplishment, he'll certainly lose his job as Speaker. And we may be faced with a House with no Speaker at all. (Not much difference, right?)

Getting the Marine Corp Commandant confirmed is progress. The Senate should do this.

And they should continue to work on all the nominations one at a time, if possible, while Tuberville's insanity continues.

I"m sitting here listening to the panel on MSNBC (Nicole Wallace's show) complaining about Tuberville's military promotions hold. And I want to scream because they are all missing the point.

What's needed is intense, public, embarrassing pressure on the rest of the Senate - (Democrats included) to kill their stupid antiquated rules.
