I've just finished watching a brilliant new movie from Amazon Studios called "The Burial".
It stars Jamie Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones. It's wonderfully entertaining, thought provoking and inspirational. This is a great feel-good experience for your evening or anytime viewing. I give it my own personal 5 star rating.

Newt Gingrich — “resigned”
It occurs to me the real core problem in our House of Reps, isn't that GOP members can't agree. That's really not it.
The problem is their blind obsession that any and all actions must be with a GOP majority.
Their are 212 Dem. Reps. Yet the GOP acts as if they do not exist. If they have to get Dem votes to pass something, they'd rather not do it at all.
This is not the way our govt was intended to run. Extreme GOP partisanship is damaging the country.

Exactly! Force the whole Senate to work harder and feel the pain of Tuberville's madness. Then, as well as making progress on confirmations, perhaps the whole body can pressure him to stop his childishness.

Schumer had been refusing to hold individual votes for nominees/promotions. He agreed to hold votes for Chief of JCS, Marine Commandant, and I think the Chief of the Navy.
Tubervile is blocking unanimous consent, where they would be grouped together and all approved at once.
I don't know why he won't let the rest of the 300 through. Just don't adjourn the Senate until the 300 votes are held.

Google TV w/Chromecast and YTTV offers a great ability to watch 4 news shows on a quad split screen. So today I could switch between CNN and MSNBC while still keeping an eye on what Fox was showing.
Didn't take long after the vote for Fox to say, "well, that's that. Let's move on to carjacking in DC and all things Hunter Biden".

I also found myself strangely agreeing with many of those same things as I listened today.
Even with the vast differences, it makes me think there really is some room for compromise between the parties on a few things.
That would take true leadership to bring about. And McCarthy surely isn't it.
But it was also very clear that GOP and Dem values are worlds apart on fundamental things.

The SHOULD be having a vote to remove Matt Gaetz, not Kevin McCarthy.
It's so jaw dropping to hear GOP House members being interviewed on TV now. They obviously live in a completely different world than the rest of us.
Perhaps it's "Earth 2", as they say on some news shows.
I'm really tired of all the "both sides-ism" crap being spewed on MSNBC right now.
The spectacle we are seeing today NEVER happens when Dems are in charge of the government.
Today's Republicans cannot govern.
