if you add fresh parsley to your garlic bread, you can call it a salad with cheese and croutons.

@Gardenthymeherbs unfortunately part of the challenge is the toddler tolerates very little in the way of remedies. We eventually agreed to a little saline and that seems to have helped. I'm not sure when they're old enough to understand pinching the nose but 2 isn't it! Your well wishes are appreciated :)

Nothing focuses the mind quite like dealing with your toddler's bloody nose (and PJs and bedding) in the middle of the night.

There's a new year out there, folks. Bring it on!

Fireworks and booze
Dancing, singing, looking back
The future is bright.

My goal is to one day have the confidence of this creature who allows me to share her home.

Booped my daughter on the nose. She giggled, then jammed her finger into my eye. Time to invest in video games and get her hand-eye coordination bulked up.

Just finished our annual rewatch of the Grinch ('60s classic animated version, of course). I've seen it a hundred times and only today realized it was a Chuck Jones piece. No wonder it's timeless; that roadrunner/coyote energy runs through its veins!

@JohnnyGage_DixieMcCall need to look at that more carefully. If the defender was artificially making himself bigger with his arm, such as by having it raised in an artificial position, that's a handball. I wasn't able to see the replay, so I'm not sure about that. Certainly those are among the most contentious calls of any match!

Fun world cup final! As a grassroots referee, I love these matches no matter who wins. Educational. There was a lot of fouling and diving here, IMO. I would have issued more cards earlier for flopping, I think, but it is what it is. Wonder if we're going to see a rule change regarding players running out of touch on breakaways, though. Saw a lot of that. Artificially expands field, and the rules as written are you can't leave the field of play without permission. Ponderables!

Was kinda slow for the first 60 minutes, with Argentina obviously on the front foot, but wow has the rest of the game been a wild ride!

Is it appropriate for a court appointed defense lawyer to ask their client for more money so they'll "work harder" on the case?

Muted Christmas lights

Waiting for the dawn

Woke up from a dream wherein I had become the owner of a large museum of random artifacts, and the police had called to congratulate me. They ended the call with a rather ominous "don't leave town," and then I woke up. Am...am I a suspect in a crime?

@Toothbrush check out if you haven't yet. Loads of people there happy to help!

Don't let them tell you
You are too weak or too small
You can do great things

@Oupa_JH The only question is whether second coffee comes after breakfast or before it

@danialexis the invisible hand of the market only works for luxuries and commodities. It fails even as a thought experiment for services you can't live without, like medical care. It's not like you can shop around for a cheaper alternative when you collapse with a heart attack; you get what you get, and it costs what it costs.
