I long for the end of identity politics.

He sure is desperate to get the headlines back, isn't he? Looks like people sure are keen at getting him back into the limelight again, doesn't it?
He wouldn't even have half as much power if people would finally just learn to ignore him and stop making him the central focus of everything they talk about.
@JLong We desperately need ethics in our government. The oligarchy that we live under now is becoming exponentially more corrupt as time goes on.
@AskTheDevil It was a nail-biter, beautiful, and had a righteous feel to it. I am a fan of the universe, so I am a bit on the biased side, but my wife and I both loved it.

@SaltyVeruca I personally don't think he will make any big moves, but I do really hope to see more of his incredible sense of humor on the way out. He was a brilliant strategist as well, and I hope that history recognizes that properly.
So strange. A week ago, every news story was about how mentally feeble Biden was. People were screeching about how he couldn't make it through a speech and how he was obviously suffering from dementia. Now that he has stepped aside, not a word about his mental acuity. No complaints about his speech. What a miracle.

I am encouraged by seeing the Democrat party line up behind VP Harris. I am likewise encouraged by seeing the Biden campaign staff easily switching over to the Harris campaign staff. The fundraising is one of those things that encourages and frightens me at the same time. Getting money out of politics seems necessary to me, but we do live in strange times.
