How is that when people say "soviet army" they mean "russians". how about the fact that almost 40% of the soviet red army consisted of Ukrainians?

how about my grandparents who fought in red army? does not count or what? I'm so angry for this appropriation... One of my grandfathers was in the nazi camp, he was ethnic Ukrainian, a regular POW of the nazis. for escaping, ussr sent him to the ussr camp later.

ok, so I'm browsing job openings on LinkedIn. I select a filter "entry level". almost every position lists ~5 years of previous experience as requirement. so what is this - a failure of a filter or the stupidity of the recruiters/companies?

somewhere in 2012 I visited Redding, UK. On one of my nights out I got lost. In addition, I really needed to use a loo. so, I seriously needed to get back home. I lived in a residential area, where lots of private homes were located. it was around 11 pm. an elderly gentlemen having a late evening stroll stumbled upon me. He was around 70-80yo. He helped me out and saved me.
My point is - help others, be grateful for any help provided, as small as it can be. You can always be a hero. #wholesome

None the less, at Satan’s insistence, he approaches it and peers in. It’s absolutely packed with souls, barely visible under the surface of the boiling liquid. Now and then, however, one clambers out of the pitch and desperately reaches for the rim. Oddly, there are no devils sitting on the edge of this giant pot but the clamberer disappears back beneath the surface anyway.

The tour continues. Soon the duo approaches a second cauldron, it’s slightly larger and slightly hotter. The American peers in. It’s also full of suffering souls, all wearing berets. Devils are pitchforking would be escapes back into this cauldron as well. “That’s where we put sinful Frenchmen,” Satan says. In the distance is a third cauldron. It’s much bigger and is glowing white hot. The American can barely get near it.

my husband sent me what appears to be an old jocke:
“An American dies and goes to hell. Satan himself shows him around. They pass a large cauldron, the American peers in. It’s full of suffering souls, burning in hot pitch. As they struggle to leave the pot, low ranking devils sitting on the rim pitchfork them back in. The American is properly shocked. Satan says, “That’s where we put sinful Englishmen.”

Slow Horses
When I find an exception book, movie or a TV show, I miss my dad the most. I always knew he'd love what I found great. Same was here.
I do have some people sharing some of my tastes, but not to the extent he did (it's probably the other way around 😅 but ...)
