Washington AG Ferguson, Rep. Lekanoff, Sen. Dhingra introduce legislation creating a MMIWP Cold Case Unit in the Attorney Generalโs Office.
โWe must address the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women and people,โ Ferguson said. โThis bill not only honors the Task Forceโs recommendation, itโs the right thing to do and is long overdue.โ
I was at work the week after 1/6 when a customer started mumbling about what crime it was to label people as terrorists just because they wanted to "visit the capital".
I looked at him and said, "Sir, I don't care what your politics are, but I'm an American. As an American I think none of them should have made it to the top of the Capitol steps alive. And, once they were actually in the building, none of them should have gotten out alive."
Appropriately, turned him white as a sheet.

Ask your vet for a referral to Neuro
You also can find Neuro near you and get into their ER, they will take in progressive seizures. You'll have to wait in line tho, be prepared.
Focal seizures are a strange looking - she was kind of loosing her balance all the time, without passing out or even noticing.
Don't multiply the entities, you do not know if it's age/gene related or a drug side effect. Focus on getting to neurologist.
@TessaForDemocracy
I also was super worried when I worked with our regular vet since they we a bit lost about her focal seizures. But one they got us to Neuro and I talked with the specialist - it all got really well over 20 min of our conversation. It cost us as a regular visit + meds. And she stopped seizuring on that day (before that she got to the point of focal seizures several times a day, grand mal once weekly. The progression was super fast)
@TessaForDemocracy
No, it's no longer the only one. We were given a choice of pheno and keppra. We chose the latter since it has less side effects and no need for constant blood checks.
They did not do any extra tests
Only blood work to make sure her hormones are at normal level and no other abnormalities. We talked a lot with Neuro. If you have videos or can make one - they will appreciate it.

Anti epileptic drug(s)
I know how stressful it can be (been there with focal seizures). Hang in there! There are new and really good AEDs nowadays. So it's either related to hyperthyroidism or not, yet - treatable both ways.
@TessaForDemocracy
What's hyperT?
I have a dog with seizures. She used to have one grand mal a year and then started having them more often with extras (focal). That was our clue and we returned to the vet for AED prescription. She haven't had one for a year now. She also has hyperthyroidism. I'd recommend contacting your vet. They might refer you to the neuro

as someone who once was in charge of a biolab (a manager with the actual "owner" of the lab above me, with great delegation skills) - this article makes me happy.
Ted Gioia writes about the recent turnaround of Barnes & Noble, which he attributes to the companyโs new CEO and his love of books. James Daunt, who took the helm of B&N in late 2019, previously saved UK bookshop chain Waterstones, in part by refusing to take promotional money from publishers:

How The War Is Doing Long-Term Damage To Ukraine's Fertile Soil
A significant percentage of the land is at risk of degradation. Scientists call it #ecocide โ the deliberate destruction of Ukraine's #ecosystem. More than 200,000 hectares of territories in the combat zone are contaminated with mines, shells, and debris.
And the soil is full of heavy metals, which will pose a threat to health for years.

@singlemaltgirl
how did I learn to cook? - it's a necessary skill, imo, so I learned that skill. one does not have to love certain activity to practice it. especially, when it's so fundamental.
so I usually cook something very simple and preferably healthy. cook big batches, freeze portions etc. or eat raw veg & fruits. when other people are involved, try to negotiate the part of work that is not cooking. something like that๐
@deadweirdo
once I get my right to vote, I'll be voting against any party/person supporting 'acab' statement.
@deadweirdo
generalizations like that discredit any constructive conversation.
neither of these articles states that all 660k police officers are "bastards".
and as a liberal, I am repulsed by 'acab'. degrading a group of people based on behavior of few instead of focusing on the actual problem(s) is neither smart, nor dignified.
btw, I grew up in an extremely criminal time and place. so I have some experience to compare to.
@singlemaltgirl
I can cook. I don't like doing it tho.
@purrrism
Yep. Want something to be part of your life - make it a habit.
