Sometimes, you just gotta grab cocoa powder, cane sugar, and whole milk, and cook yourself a hot chocolate to make PCPs weep. Like today, for instance. Because it turns out my fucking potassium is low again. Wanna know symptoms of low potassium? Fatigue, dizziness, and weight gain. And here I was thinking that I just couldn't bounce back from surgery. Ergo hot chocolate.
have you heard anything about spinach and arthritis? i love spinach but claims about it are making me dubious.
Everything I've seen says that spinach and other dark leafies are great for reducing inflammation--which would help arthritis.
Spinach is high in oxalates, so not a green you should have every day, if your family has a history of kidney stones.
yeah, that's my understanding too. good. there's so much 💩 out there.
I love Nutrition Facts for helping me sort through dietary science. Because yeah, there's a lot out there and weighing what's a well-designed study or not and comparing seemingly contradictory info is a LOT.
I found him when I was looking at diet re: all causes mortality after I had a heart attack in 2017.
thanks. i'll bookmark that👌🏽

It does help that those are super yummy foods! That said, my potassium sitch is such that we are making a push with prescription pills in the hopes of avoiding infusions. It is kinda dire.
@publickovacs
Time for beans, dried apricots, butternut squash, and dark leafy greens.
After the hot cocoa, of course.
