Heard an amazing story tonight from someone who was so severe an alcoholic he was unemployable. His liver function was 30%. The bank was foreclosing on his house. He begged God to help him.

The next day he got a flyer about a faith-based recovery program. Since they weren't a medical facility the initial detox had to be elsewhere.

He detoxed and went to the ER. Almost died with DTs. Immediately went to the recovery program. He was able to stay there a number of months. Eventually...

This will probably be me at 8 p.m.

Got blood drawn, filed some paperwork, dropped off my mail-in ballot.

There's some satisfaction in knowing Chicago puts my state in the Democratic column.

Got my vote by mail ballot. Not one Democrat running for anything in my county. Only one Democrat for Representative and that's regional. A very red county.
