I awoke to a little rain shower in the early morning hours in the .
Good for all in my little patch of forest. Creatures will be stirring about more.
It is early evening, cool descending, the tall trees are laying their long shadows upon the ground. Beasts rustle occasionally in the underbrush.
A blue jay squawks.
I look hoping to spot the intruder it is warning.
The blue jay squawks again.
I look up, just south of me at eye level, an owl flys by screeching.
Stealth mode interrupted.

Vents to let hot air out, add vents to let cooler air in or pull restricted air from every tiny nook and cranny in the structure that connects to the outdoors.

Where to put these vents is very site specific, only constant is feed air into each room at floor level to create a draft constantly refreshing the air in a room.

Vents on shaded (sunny in winter) walls and pipes in the ground coming up in shady tree groves or ...?

@NorCalCherylLyn @zoidette @Bix @peeppeepcircus

What if every room had natural light coming in thru the ceiling, at least five (adjust for room size), one center and one towards each corner, portals to bring in outside light?

To get outside light into those portals use reflective tubes attached to bubbles mounted on the roof. Perhaps the entire roof ridgeline is lines of light gathering bubbles integrated with attic and room vents.

An idea for more light and air inside.

There is no one right answer to how to structure the best habitat to live in, mostly because the starting points are -

what are the characteristics you personally would like to see in the structure you live in?

what is the geology, flora, and fauna of the location available to build the structure?

what is the yearly cycle and patterns of weather the structure will be subjected to?

Take some time and think about these things, actual or ideal.

Let me know your thoughts

A pleasant afternoon was spent in my little patch of forest. There were pleasant gusty breezes to keep everything fresh and cool. I was hauling rocks with my wheel barrow from one location to another as usual, but I see a light at the end of that particular tunnel. I am thinking that by the end of next week the rock hauling portion of my project will be concluded!

@phase2
Does the code run properly? - YES
Can I easily understand what the code is meant to do when I read it? - YES

All coders have their own style of coding. Readability is very high on my list, I will revisit the code and I will want to quickly understand what I was doing and why. Code is a language and is its own documentation.

When I revisit prior code, Fresh eyes may notice changes to make for more efficient execution. I make those changes, but with no sacrifice of readability.

showcase of z3DEscapeTheMaze for iPad.

Generate Puzzle - You have a maze, you have a ball, you have an exit and you have 60 tics on the countdown clock to wind thru this maze by tilting the iPad.

Then the maze scrambles and you have to recalc your route to a new exit. To solve escape the required number of levels.

I built these to brighten my day.

someone stapled a sign on the utility pole near the gate to my home
it said cheap yard work w/ phone#

I found a nice cedar board in my garage and hand painted on it
WILDLIFE MEADOWS.

I quietly, trying not to disturb the deer, birds and a sole pygmy eared rabbit, walked out to my gate. No luck with the rabbit, sound plus moving objects and they go zipping away into the brush.

I fastened the board to my gate.
I removed the yard work sign from the utility pole.
Problem Solved.

OCD behavior ( a rut ) is at its root a survival mechanism.
The water is always there so I will always go there to get a drink.
Well worn ruts get deeply entrenched to the point where you just do instead of think why?

A number of years ago I had an aha moment about the ruts that set my life free. I am the one that chose to establish a particular rut. To be free of a particular rut, all I have to is design a new rut, wear it down with a few uses so it is comfortable, then nix the old rut.

Melodic midday

Longing and wistful clarinet tones
Dry grass blown by a desert wind
Wishing for rain
Lilting rhythms intertwine
Holding the joyful memories
Of observed rains
Preserving the hope
Of future rain

So it is
When freedom is lost
When freedom is observed afar
And all efforts will be expended
To regain freedom lost
To revel in freedom gained
As long as hope is alive
For a better future
