Got a sleep mask with built-in headphones and listened to Brain.FM's deep sleep mode with rain sounds instead of their default music last night, and was OUT the entire night. Still not feeling rested because I didn't start it until after 1:30am....👀 And also my head is clogged up with allergies. But maybe keeping that up every night + consistently going to bed at a decent hour will start to pay off? Like...sleeping well may actually be possible? Is this magic?

I have been thinking about this community a lot since I joined a few days ago. To my fellow Twitter migrants, I think we need to remember that there was a community here before us with their own vibe, rules, attitudes and behaviors that existed before we joined. We can’t just show up and start acting like this is still Twitter. Read the room, things are different here. I think you will find that it is actually quite nice that it is a different place.

@IrelandTorin I appreciate the apology, but maybe ask first if someone's aware of the history next time instead of jumping in to mansplain? And as for your reply about alcoholism vs meth usage...my father was a severe alcoholic who chose to end his life by suicide because he couldn't quit. So I'm also WELL AWARE of all of that, too, thank you very much. Anyway, so much for my relaxing Saturday morning with my coffee. God.

@IrelandTorin Anyway...I was just stating my frustration about forgetting to call in for a refill before the weekend. Wasn't really looking for a history lesson. I already have a degree in that.

@IrelandTorin, Completely agree that the "war on drugs" was racist. but ADHD meds, like pain killers, are often abused in ways that are truly dangerous. It's not like weed. Many are methamphetamines. So while I'm against most of the policies that came out of the "war on drugs," having some precautions in place around this one makes sense to me. It's just frustrating, is all, that when you have an actual prescription, you have to jump through extra hoops to get it refilled.

@ceruleanbagel It does! I just needed to see it up! Ahh! Thank you!

@ceruleanbagel Hmm...I did actually just download our pharmacy's app the other day but haven't explored it much. It might do that. I will check and see. Thanks!

This is to say, this morning's coffee has actual caffeine in it, which is a poor substitute for Vyvanse, but will have to do. Will I get anything done this weekend? Or will I spend the next two days constantly thinking of the million things I should be doing while staring at my phone and doing none of them?

I get that it's considered a controlled substance and all, which is why pharmacies can't do automatic refills, but has anyone who makes these policies stopped to think that people who need ADHD medication are not going to remember on their own to call their doctor to ask them for another month's prescription before they run out of meds on a weekend and can't do anything about it until Monday?

Just wondering.... for reasons....

Aaaanyway, back to hyper-focusing on my current game obsession: Wylde Flowers on Apple Arcade. Have I been playing it every spare moment over the last three days, including much too late at night when I should be sleeping? Of course n---actually, yes. Yes I have. K'bye!

Ooh! Looks like we're back up and running! Yay!

@tracypaints It's basically a series of short, timed writing sessions (usually 20-30 mins) with 5-10 minute breaks in between where everyone who is participating shares how many words they wrote during the previous session. Like a shared pomodoro.

@Captain_Gogo I'm not sure yet. I know about the ones I used because someone else posted about them. Tooted about them? I guess we say tooted here, lol.

Also, I edited this post! (I wanted to add different hashtags.) Deleting and redrafting without losing the words you already wrote is definitely the way to go if you're going to allow editing on a social media platform. I also like that it gets rid of your likes and boosts on the original so someone can't change what they wrote to make it look like people boosted something they wouldn't normally boost or agree with. That's been my fear with a Twitter edit button.
