To clarify, I firmly believe that if you hire someone to perform a SERVICE in a service industry where tipping is normal (haircut, tattoo/piercing, serving food to a dine-in customer, shoe shine) you should tip them at least 18% because typically those people do not make enough money and rely on tips. It shouldn’t be that way, but it is and if you refuse to tip because it shouldn’t be that way, you’re punishing the workers and it isn’t their fault.

I’m trying to order h2ocean spray online from a tattoo supply company and their online checkout asks you to add a tip. A tip for what?? This has gone too far.

This morning I had to flip my septum ring up for the first time, and it was so painful even after soaking in saline briefly that it made my eyes tear up. I think I’m just going to have to leave it up there for the next few weeks to prevent trauma to the piercing site. Sad.

Got my septum done today! It’s so so so itchy. And also it looks a little crooked but I know the piercer was very careful with the placement so I think it’s two things: a) my nose is crooked and b) now it’s swelling at the piercing site. I always get mixed feelings with body mods—I love it immediately, then I feel anxious and doubtful, then I love it again. I’ll swing back the other way soon.
