These simple objects are the building blocks of understanding the world (a little better, at least).
If I don't break these down, I quickly get overwhelmed because I can't hold all of those concepts in my head all at once. That's what geniuses can do. That's not me. But, even a simple laborer can, brick by brick, build a structure that is useful.

So, "Human" + "role of Wife" is the woman I live with. She's a human first. I then think of her role as "wife" and adjust how I treat her (with too much affection and love, BTW). That attribute is really important, but it doesn't overwhelm her fundamental characteristic as a human - with all its faults and folly.
She has other attributes such as "woman" and "executive" and "cook" (really good one, too).
She's also "sister" to her brothers. That I have compartmentalized. Critical to "us".

I'm still going down the "abstraction" rabbit hole. It's a plentiful domain to unpack.

Apparently, this is why clients and friends think I'm smart.

Silly them.

I'm just simplifying things down to fewer "objects" so I can understand them.

The really hard part is getting those abstract objects defined.

But, one key model that works for me: Define the most generic abstract object on a topic (i.e. Human) and ask what "attributes" need to be added to turn it into what you are seeing.

Our friend/neighbor gives a crow family doggy treats when she walks her dog. They're really smart and will learn to trust you over time.

@IrelandTorin
There's always the question: "will they ever understand?"
If no, then talk about beer, wine, sports. Simple, transactional things.

If someone brings up an example to defend a broad position on a topic, they are either:
1) Sneaky and using rhetoric to fool you
2) Philosophers and know you will not understand the model of how things work, so use analogies
3) Suckered by #1

Most bad people, lawyers and politicians are #1.
Most humans are #3.

For example..... 😉

If something is terribly wrong, there are at least two paths (strategies) you can take towards resolution:
1) Incremental improvements
2) Demolition and renovation

The US government does need improving. We have been on #1 for 248 years.
But, if you are going to embark upon option #2, you had better have a plan to renovate such that it is better than pre-demolition.

You don't jump off the ship when it is still floating (and not on fire) if there isn't another ship or land nearby.

I'm definitely entering a new phase of life.
All is really good.

More cycles to help others.
I'm glad I've stumbled into this community. Somehow, I hope I'm helping to make it better.

I'm actually finding it cathartic to have deleted 17 years of Twitter history.
A new start in a shitty cesspool.
I've got 2 followers and one is my wife.

Yea!
My client is extending my contract through the end of next year.
Looks like I'm doing something right. Sometimes I do question that fact.

TERRORIST SUPPORTING ORGANIZATION.—For purposes of this paragraph, the term ‘terrorist supporting organization’ means any organization which is designated by the Secretary as having provided, during the 3-year period ending on the date of such designation, material support or resources (within the meaning of section 2339B of title 18, United States Code) to an organization described in paragraph (2) ....

@Museek
This is the text:
congress.gov/bill/118th-congre

It looks like they are using Tax Exemption to force orgs to avoid the appearance of supporting causes that might be associated with "terrorism". Most of the BLM protesters would probably fall into that category for them.

Simon and Garfunkel's "Sound of Silence" sounds prescient about AI and generated music.

Insight:
If you are about to call someone "Stupid" or "Dumb", consider that they don't have the mental capacity to think otherwise.

Would you berate a blind man about the color of a car?

They may be stupid or dumb (there is a difference), but telling them your opinion will not fix their metal capacity.

Instead, discuss the topic knowing that they have a limited mental capacity. Or, avoid engaging entirely.

@corlin
Interesting.
I was reacting to a pundit's perspective that people are relying upon authenticity to side with them regardless of the merits of their position. If true, it would be a fragile trend.

"Authenticity" is a proxy for a lack of understanding of how "something" works. You rely upon the authority even if the authority also doesn't understand how "something" works.
"Model" = How things work.
Understanding the Model requires abstract thinking.
Most don't have that.

Insight:
"Doing the right thing" is fundamental. If you are arguing for it, stop. There is no logic that justifies it. It is simply a way of living your life.

If someone is arguing against it, you already have your answer about who they are. Unless they are your child, it is not your responsibility.

Tonight the moon aligned with it and made a moonbow for me
