@AskTheDevil
That's a downstream topic.

Worth discussing, but still downstream.

My intent is to clarify that if the task at hand is consequential and worth accomplishing, it may also be really hard. Expect it to be hard and you will not be disappointed with the struggle.

Yet, Good is not necessarily easy.

Often, "Good" is hard to discern in the first place.

Currently I am deep in the struggle.

"What is great and eternal does not want to be bent by us." -- Rilke

When what you are doing is hard yet important...that's to be expected.

Keep trying.

"It" doesn't want you to win. You need to want it more than "it".

Lacking Empathy and Being a Bad Person are not necessarily correlated.

They often align in people, and a lack of empathy allows a person to do bad things more easily. But they don't have to be mutually an attribute of a certain type of person.

Living the life of a good person is usually harder than living the life of a bad person.

Try harder.

In order to live the life of a good person....

You need to understand what it means to live the life of a bad person....

And do the opposite.

It is possible to be a BAD person and not know it.

And, by "bad", I mean prone to making immoral actions and to degrading the progress of your community, the species, or the Earth's ecosystem.

There are a lot of bad people out there.

Hypothesis: The percentage is decreasing.
But, we're becoming more aware of their existence. So, it seems like they are increasing.

We survived.
We just need to clean up all this sulfur on the streets. 😉

Fuck.
Trump is in my neighborhood at a fundraiser.
All his freaky followers are here in trucks and prayer circles.
I'm locking the doors.

Looks like a bottle rocket or some errant munition.
Notice how it accelerates after hitting his head.
@Render will have a better analysis.

Nevertheless, growing out of the scar is your responsibility. Nobody else's. No blame can be cast on others. Only, maybe, towards yourself for supporting your own timidity.

Thinking about my childhood a lot lately. Unsure why.

Insight:
While you have control over who you become, you start from a reference point. You can only deviate from that point.

Like a tree that grows around an obstacle, it is still originally planted somewhere.

And, if scarred early on, it carries it onwards.

It might be able to "grow out of the scar", but the scar is still there.

Some scars make you stronger.

Some keep you from reaching your potential because of when they happened

My neighbors met me on the roof. We discussed the weather. We all would rather bundle up during the cold days than swelter outside on the hot days. 🙂
