It is possible to be a BAD person and not know it.

And, by "bad", I mean prone to making immoral actions and to degrading the progress of your community, the species, or the Earth's ecosystem.

There are a lot of bad people out there.

Hypothesis: The percentage is decreasing.
But, we're becoming more aware of their existence. So, it seems like they are increasing.

In order to live the life of a good person....

You need to understand what it means to live the life of a bad person....

And do the opposite.

Living the life of a good person is usually harder than living the life of a bad person.

Try harder.

@jurban If you make things harder in nature, you give them a handicap.

If you make of virtue a penance, you'll be leaving only the people who like hair shirts on your side.

Good is easy.

It only seems hard when you allow your society to become evil, and everything is turned upside-down, where virtue is punished and greed is rewarded.

But still. As you say, we need to try harder, because we haven't built that good world yet. It's do the work or die.

That's a downstream topic.

Worth discussing, but still downstream.

My intent is to clarify that if the task at hand is consequential and worth accomplishing, it may also be really hard. Expect it to be hard and you will not be disappointed with the struggle.

Yet, Good is not necessarily easy.

Often, "Good" is hard to discern in the first place.

Currently I am deep in the struggle.
