@LiberalLibrarian @jjmacnab @th3j35t3r yeah. I know a couple of white Cuban-Americans and...yeah.
But that's not limited to Cuban-Americans. The Latino community that attended the small rural school I taught at was very biased against any "Indios"--we had one family that we knew was not primarily Spanish-speaking (and it interfered with their older children's language acquisition). But they would deny it. Even though everyone else in the community knew otherwise--the stigma was too great.
@th3j35t3r Remember that time when the Biden campaign bus was forced off the road. The leader of the group behind the wheel of the truck? Eliazar Cisneros.
@th3j35t3r If you spent any time on the Latinos for Trump Facebook groups in 2020, you'd have seen a lot of antisemitism and some pretty hardcore Cuban-American rage at the socialist and communist factions of Antifa.
Not just Cubans either, Tejano culture (Southwest Mexican-American) has for decades had Morenazis - which is a calque / portmanteau of moreno (dark / dark skinned or haired) & Nazi.
Who, as you mentioned, are driven by antisemitism, anti-Communism and pro-Catholicism & fit right in with the rest of the far right movement.
They are, unsurprisingly, not popular with the Stormfront crowd: https://www.enlacejudio.com/2016/06/04/los-morenazis-con-la-suastica-por-dentro/
@Smersh @jjmacnab @th3j35t3r The difference between Hitler and Franco. Same basic stew, slightly different ingredients, and each chef swears his is the best.
@jjmacnab @th3j35t3r Cuban-American here. White Cuban-American. I could tell you stories of my people's racism which would curl your toes.
